Dating back over 200 years, Conté à Paris is the definitive brand for artist’s pencils, pastels, and charcoal. A staple in art schools and studios worldwide, it carries a heavy legacy. The challenge for this redesign was to honour that heritage while avoiding the category cliché of displaying sample drawings on the box.
Unmistakable Assets
We returned to the brand’s namesake: Paris. Instead of showing the result of creativity, we focused on the source. The packaging features evocative images of the great city – capturing its light, texture, and architecture.
By avoiding the typical approach of showing sample art, the design is built to inspire. It provides the muse, but leaves the drawing to the artists themselves.
